The study commissioned by Probono.Org was to assess the effectiveness of the Probono.Org Help desk project rolled out at four courts, Alberton, Roodepoort, Vanderbijlpark and Vereeneging magistrates courts where the Maintenances Act of 1998 ('the Act') is being implemented.

The Society, Work and Development Institute at University of Witwatersrand (SWOP) has been commissioned by the Gauteng Department of Economic Development to undertake research into decent work in the province. The Institute has sub-contracted C A S E to design, undertake and analyse a survey of working conditions in different Hospitality sectors in Gauteng.

Ekurhuleni Business Satisfaction

C A S E has been commissioned by Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality to conduct a survey to assess attitudes and perceptions of local businesses regarding municipal services, infrastructure and governance.

Households Travel Survey

C A S E has been commissioned by the City of Johannesburg' to conduct a household travel survey. The objectives of the study is to provide strategic transportation planning information to the City of Johannesburg's Transportation Department at a local level, including the socio-economic characteristics of households impacting on travel demand, trip data covering all modes of transport and trip purposes and attitudinal data to assist decision-making about current issues and trends, information for the development of the Comprehensive Integrated Transport Plan 2011-2016 for the City of Johannesburg and information on cross-metropolitan, provincial and national border planning issues.

Department of Labour, Taxi Sector

C A S E has been commissioned by the Department of Labour to conduct research to inform the revision of the sectoral determination for the taxi industry. The research will investigate minimum wages and conditions in the industry, and particular attention will also be paid to how developments in respect of public transport and the recapitalisation programme have affected the industry, as well as to the suitability of the current provisions in respect of different routes.

Audit of Unregistered Child and Youth Care Centres and Situational Analysis of "Safe Homes" used for Temporary Safe Care

C A S E has been commissioned by UNICEF to conduct a survey of all known unregistered child and youth care centres and a situational analysis of "safe homes "used for temporary safe care.

Evaluation Study of the Community Monitoring and Advocacy Project

C A S E is evaluating the Community Monitoring and Advocacy Project run by the Black Sash which is currently involved in monitoring services delivery through the use of community monitors in 271 local authorities. Working with local organisations the project seeks to involve community members in the monitoring and advocacy for better service delivery in health, local government, social grants and Home Affairs.

C A S E has been commissioned by NALEDI to conduct a survey of workers for COSATU.

University Of Witwatersrand Society, Work And Development Institute (Swop), Security Guards

The Society, Work and Development Institute at University of Witwatersrand (SWOP) has been commissioned by the Gauteng Department of Economic Development to undertake research into decent work in the province. The Institute has sub-contracted C A S E to design, undertake and analyse a survey of security guards. It is hoped that the survey will, among others, provide the basis for developing indicators of decent work for a range of different industries or occupations in the province.
